Val holds a 500-hour Hatha Yoga certification through the Yoga Association of Alberta & Yoga Within. Her classes focus on connecting breath with movement to enhance strength, balance & mobility.

Large room and small class sizes allows for physical distancing. Students are required to bring their own yoga mat & props. These classes are open to all levels.

The pelvic floor plays an essential role in reproduction, bladder, bowel & sexual function. Did you know the pelvic floor also plays additional roles in posture, hip function, standing balance & breathing?
Concerning pelvic health symptoms often appear as stress or urge incontinence, sexual dysfunction, chronic pelvic or low back pain – to name a few. Many people often do not seek help – perhaps because we think some of these changes are normal and may appear after childbirth or due to ageing.
Pelvic Floor Yoga classes are designed for any woman looking to gain a better understanding of how your pelvic floor assists you during movement and daily life. We will combine breath awareness, pelvic floor release & strengthening exercises, along with yoga postures, to help improve pelvic floor and core function. These classes can provide insight and improve your awareness & connections to your pelvis to assist with daily well-being.

Val holds a 500-hour Hatha Yoga certification through the Yoga Association of Alberta & Yoga Within. She completed her Pelvic Floor yoga training & certification with Shelly Prosko of Physioyoga. Val’s curiosity about her own pelvic health led her to research & study this complex area of our body. She is excited to share this mind-body approach that honours your body’s strength & resilience to optimize your own pelvic floor health.

Large room and small class sizes allows for physical distancing. Students are required to bring their own yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, yoga strap, and folded blanket.

Karate at La Perle Community League

Monday/Wednesday evening classes

The Ohtsuka Amateur Karate Foundation (AKF) is pleased to announce the continuation of a Karate dojo at the La Perle Community League.

The AKF is a non-profit provincial organization that has been providing karate instruction in Alberta for over 30 years. Challenge yourself with this wonderful opportunity to have fun while developing a strong body and mind. Learn valuable skills in personal safety and self-defense.   Become stronger, faster and fitter while learning karate techniques.

Instruction will be available for ”Little Dragons” (age 5-7), Children (age 8-11), Youth (Age 12-15), and Adults (age 15+ with no upper age limit).
