Halloween 2020

If you are not handing out candy:

  • Please keep your house dark
  • NO Pressure to hand out candy this year, we want everybody to feel safe and comfortable
  • If you would still like to see kids in costume, you are welcome to come to the community hall between 3:30 and 5ish to see the kids in costume, you can even stay in your cars

If you are handing out candy:

  • Please light up your house, so the kids know to call for candy
  • Please consider wearing a medical mask and using a safe method to give out the candy. Some people will use tongs, others will leave the treat on the step and move back, others are using home designed devices.
  • We encourage homes to keep their inside door open (if possible) to avoid ringing the doorbell

Trick or treaters:

  • Don’t go trick-or-treating if feeling ill, even if symptoms are minor
  • Choose costumes that allow a non-medical mask to be worn underneath – make sure you can see and breathe comfortably
  • Minimize contact with others: trick-or-treat with your family or cohort, remain within your community, and stay 2 metres apart
  • Avoid touching doorbells or railings: call “trick or treat” from 2 metres away, knock instead of using doorbells, use hand sanitizer after touching surfaces
  • Wash hands and disinfect packages before eating candy
